Back on the Market

I’ve spent the past couple of months freelancing from home again, as requests came in right at the time when work for me at Maritz was drying up, and I’ve been enjoying the experience. Sure, the baby tends to start crying during conference calls, and payment can sometimes arrive…sporadically…but it’s nice to have the freedom to take my daughter to the park or to run errands in the middle of the day (provided I don’t have any pressing deadlines, of course).

And for those of you who’ve been wondering whether or not I will continue on this course, the answer is yes, for the foreseeable future. There’s still a drought of work at Maritz (at least for the type of work that I do), and it looks like that will be the case for the next six months, give or take. Until such time as Maritz has a full workload for me again, I’m open for any and all freelancing/contracting opportunities.

Once (or if?) the workload at Maritz returns, then I’ll have to decide whether to stay freelance (which includes freelancing for Maritz as well, of course) or to go back to them full-time. After all, the people are nice, the commute is short, and they pay on-time. Then again, I do enjoy taking Greta to the park.
